P&P Helping Hand Foundation helped me achieve educational goals I never thought were possible.
-- Dr. Tonya W., 2012
Welcome to the website of P&P Helping Hand Foundation, Inc. (P&P) where we are committed to “helping the community, one hand at a time.” We at P&P foster an environment where students entering or continuing college have a place to come for mentoring, guidance and financial assistance. They will find a liaison to get through all the paperwork of undergraduate, graduate and professional studies. At-risk youth can enter and find a place of safety and the confidence needed to beat the odds. They will find mentors with a listening ear. Our seniors can be assured they will receive companionship and help when needed.
P&P Helping Hand Foundation was founded in April 2011, but our Board has a combined philanthropic history of more than 220 years. Our visionary, James C. Nelson, wanted to continue the tradition of helping and giving by introducing a Foundation that pays tribute to two (2) extraordinary women:
Mrs. Patricia Ann Nelson (1944-2004) and Mrs. Patricia Andrews
(P&P Helping Hand Foundation)
These women’s lives demonstrated integrity and unselfish service. They provided mentoring, training, tutoring, and assistance to the elderly…teaching the principles necessary to empower every life they were privileged to touch. It is with their passion and determination that we endeavor to keep this great legacy alive.
P&P Helping Hand Foundation has been instrumental in providing scholarships to many at-risk youth, who are now doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, etc. We provide a variety of services that have enabled our senior community to live independently while maintaining their dignity. Through our mentorship programs, P&P Helping Hand has produced many productive members of society.
